David J. Mott Biography

Born near Salem, Ohio and raised in Columbus, David is a transplant to Athens. He moved to Athens in 2002 to attend Ohio University and, like many others, never left. He began practicing in 2015 and is now a partner at Mollica Gall Sloan & Sillery.
 
David has built his practice at the intersection of life, business, and real estate. He handles all things real estate, both residential and commercial—buying and selling, commercial leasing, landlord-tenant and evictions, zoning matters, development and redevelopment, title and lending matters, and affordability programs and initiatives. On the business side, David provides all manner of support services for businesses, nonprofits, and government entities, including entity formation and governance matters, preparing and reviewing contracts, selling and buying entire businesses, employee and customer disputes, legal support relating to grants, and general counsel services.
 
David is a member and past president of the Athens County Bar Association, and he is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, where he currently serves on the Council of Delegates. Outside of the lawyer role, David has also served as a director of the Athens Area Chamber of Commerce and is currently a member of the City of Athens Civil Service Commission.
 
David and his wife Andria live just outside Athens with their giant schnauzers and goats.
