Steven T. Sloan Biography

Steven T. Sloan has been a member of the firm since 1973. He practices in the areas of civil litigation, probate, estate planning, real estate, and business. Steve graduated from Albion College and obtained his law degree from Case Western Reserve University.  

He is admitted to practice before all Ohio Courts including the Ohio Supreme Court. He is also admitted to practice before the United States Federal District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States.

Steve is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association; a Fellow of the Ohio State Bar Foundation; and a member of Defense Research Institute. He is a member and past State president of the Ohio Association of Civil Trial Attorneys. He is also a member and past president of the Athens County Bar Association.

Steve is a past Board member and past president of Athens County Habitat for Humanity (aka Habitat for Humanity of Southeast Ohio) and currently serves as its legal advisor. He has served on the Board of the O’Bleness Health System including as its Chair. He is a past member of the Athens Athletic Booster Board and a past president of that organization.  Steve served for 13 years on the Athens County Children’s Services Board, including ten years as Chair. He is a member and past president of the Athens Rotary Club and is also a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow. He is a member and past president of Athens Symposiarch and belongs to all Masonic bodies. Steve is a member of First United Methodist Church and has recently served as Chair of its Administrative Council.
